At Fundación ECOTIC, leaders in the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Spain, we announce that our new entity, Fundación ECOTIC Clima, has obtained authorization as a statewide Extended Producer Responsibility Collective System (EPRCS) for domestic air conditioning equipment and temperature exchange equipment for professional use.
The ECOTIC Clima Foundation initiated the authorization process during the first months of 2022, and after a rigorous process, the Resolution of authorization was notified on March 15.
The establishment of the ECOTIC Clima Foundation represents a significant step in the organization’s commitment to the sustainable management of e-waste and the circular economy. This new entity joins the ECOTIC Foundation’s efforts to preserve the environment and promote responsible consumption practices.
“The authorization of the ECOTIC Clima Foundation as SCRAP is an important challenge in our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability. We are confident that this new entity will play a key role in the efficient and responsible management of air conditioning equipment in our country.”said Andreu Vilà, our General Manager.
Vilà also noted: “By segregating the management of air-conditioning RAP and creating this new SCRAP, we will develop a more effective management of HVAC equipment waste, promoting sustainable practices, increasingly in more sectors, to generate a 360° network of activity and action. “
