A New Edition of Comparte y Recicla Begins, Giving Thousands of Toys a Second Life

The campaign will run until June 29 and will feature hundreds of collection points across Spain thanks to the collaboration of El Corte Inglés, Hipercor, Supercor, Mail Boxes Etc. and OCINE.

Fundación ECOTIC is once again taking part in Comparte y Recicla, Spain’s largest toy collection and donation campaign, promoted by Fundación Crecer Jugando, Fundación SEUR and Mediaset España. The initiative aims to encourage the reuse and recycling of toys, helping them reach children in vulnerable situations while also contributing to environmental protection.

From today until June 29, families can drop off toys they no longer use at collection points located in El Corte Inglés, Hipercor, Supercor and Mail Boxes Etc. stores throughout Spain, as well as in selected OCINE cinemas, which join the campaign this year.

A Campaign that Combines Solidarity and Sustainability

The campaign follows a simple process: all collected toys are carefully inspected by specialised professionals to determine whether they are suitable for reuse. Toys in good condition are donated through social organisations across Spain. In addition, some toys are adapted so that children with disabilities can also enjoy playing with them.

Toys that are no longer suitable for reuse are sent for recycling. In this area, Fundación ECOTIC contributes by ensuring their proper environmental management, promoting material recovery and preventing waste from ending up in landfill sites.

In 2025, thanks to this collaboration, more than 16,000 kilograms of toys were recycled, avoiding emissions equivalent to 41 tonnes of CO₂.

More Than a Decade of Sharing Smiles

Over its thirteen-year history, Comparte y Recicla has enabled more than 120,000 children to receive toys thanks to the generosity of thousands of families across Spain.

The campaign is an example of the circular economy applied to toys, promoting values such as solidarity, resource reuse and waste reduction.
